Hi,

I'd like to find out more about the Coldfusion opportunity, whether there is scope for working remotely, if you can help with a visa if required or perhaps a contract with my company in Australia might be possible?

I have 25 years of software development experience, primarily in commercial applications. The last 10 or 12 years have been spent working with Coldfusion. Most recently (in fact currently) I am working on a project that is using an Agile methodology which is proving very successful.

I'm interested in making a move overseas for a few years, or more, and would be happy to talk to you about this or other opportunities. Let me know if you would like to see my CV which includes working for Bank of America in Croydon for 2 years in the early 90s.

Cheers,

Brett

I wish Google would buy them. They don't have any similar products and they sure could use some design help. It seems like a Microsoft purchase would be good for Microsoft, but bad for existing Adobe developers...especially Coldfusion devs. It would be good for Railo I guess.

@Martin, in mid-2009, I decided I wanted to learn Coldfusion MVC and OOP magic!

At first, I picked ColdBox because it had excellent documentation. But, I quickly got lost anyway.

Then, I looked at CFWheels, and it was perfect for me. Easy enough to get going quickly, and with a lot of great help via the Google Group list.

Plus, since Wheels adapts and extends Rails for ColdFusion, I've found that I can often get great ideas for solving a CFWheels problem by Googling for the equivalent Rails solution!

I used the Head First Rails book to learn CFWheels, and blogged about it some:
